Rectification

For someone whose birth time is uncertain: from the dates of life events, list the times at which transits, solar arcs and the progressed Moon hit the ASC/MC most, as candidates.

This lists candidates and their evidence; the astrologer decides. Enter at least 3 events, ideally 5–10 (marriage, births, moves, job changes, illness, bereavement — days when life changed). Events are taken at noon.

Method (the formula)

Candidate times step through the range; for each, the ASC and MC are computed at the birthplace. For each event date the following hits are counted.

Same calculation as Positions (JPL Horizons tables; Moon from Astronomy Engine). Events are taken at noon in the birthplace's offset. Natal longitudes are taken at the middle of the range (they do not move within minutes). The orb settings page is not used here (fixed orbs).

Once you choose, “Use this time” puts it into the current person, and the chart wheel and Positions open with it. Scores are for comparison, not probabilities.
